Twitter just crossed the 300 million account threshold, according to a Twitter-tracking site called Twopcharts.
Twitter is currently adding 9.1 accounts per second. It will reach 301 million in the three hours after this post goes live.
But really, only 21Mln are active users.
That's less than 1 active user for every 10 accounts.
I hope this doesn't dampen the spirit of Twitter product boss Jack Dorsey. But really, there's gotta be a way to make Twitter convert its account holders into becoming more active users.
(BTW, I am not quite sure about the 1 active user per 10 accounts... I have no data/evidence, but it seems to me that it has crossed the mainstream in Urban Southeast Asia... Hmmm.)
